"As promotion for "The Judge" kicks off this weekend, I feel the need to run the risk of over sharing…..
My mom passed away early this week….I wanna say something about her life, and a generic “obit” won’t suffice…
Elsie Ann Ford was born outside Pittsburgh in April of 1934, daughter of an engineer who worked on the Panama Canal, and mother who ran a jewelry shop in Huntingdon, where they settled….a bona fide “Daughter Of The American Revolution.”
In the mid ’50s, she dropped out of college and headed to NY, with dreams of becoming a comedienne. In ‘62, she met my dad, (who proposed at a Yankees/Orioles game). They married, had my sister Allyson in ‘63 and me in ‘65…
There was another “revolution” of sorts going on at that time, of underground counter-culture film and theatre…and with her as Bob Sr’s muse, they jumped in wholeheartedly…
"Chafed Elbows" (a man marries his mother and goes on welfare), "Greaser’s Palace" (a woman relentlessly persecuted by God who never utters a word), and "Moment To Moment" AKA "Two Tons Of Turquoise To Taos Tonight" (in which she played 17 characters) were the stand outs.
By the mid ’70s, the downside of drug culture caught up with many artists. She was an alcoholic…
As the marriage suffered, she continued to work, but not for long. A recurring role on “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” (‘76-‘77) was her last paying job…not that she cared, she’d have done it for free.
I remember living with her and her boyfriend Jonas, (who became a second father to me) in a 2 room 5 story walk up in Manhattan after that…Bunsen burner for a stove, cockroaches, broken dreams…
By 1990, she’d had enough, went to treatment, got sober. Just in time to enjoy several decades of heart disease, bypasses, you name it….
While I strived to have the kind of success that eluded her, my own addiction repeatedly forbade it.
In the summer of 2004, I was in bad shape. She called me out of the blue, and I admitted everything. I don’t remember what she said, but I haven’t drank or used since.
Eventually, when finances allowed, we were able to move her out to LA. She had a special affinity for my firstborn son Indio, and really got a kick out of Exton. Got an iPad, pictures, videos, the whole 9….
Her doctors basically titled her a “Medical Incredible,” said there was little they could do, and were frankly amazed she was up and walking….
Many fond memories of her in the last few years…holidays, kid-stuff, her strutting around with a walking stick. I knew it was difficult, and understood as the visits got shorter.
In March, she suffered another cardiac arrest and was put on life support.
Her wishes were to be left to die if there wasn’t a reasonable chance of recovery, which for some time there was.
I returned from filming the “Avengers” sequel in June, went straight to see her.
To my amazement, she was completely lucid, interactive, mugging + pulling faces.
We couldn’t speak ‘cause she had a tracheal tube. I wondered if she might just beat the odds once more.
Another set of seizures answered that, and we brought her home for hospice.
She died @ 11 p.m., September 22nd, survived by her extremely loving and tolerant partner of 37 years, Jonas Kerr.
She was my role model as an actor, and as a woman who got sober and stayed that way.
She was also reclusive, self-deprecating, a stoic Scotch-German rural Pennsylvanian, a ball buster, stubborn, and happy to hold a grudge.
My ambition, tenacity, loyalty, “moods,” grandiosity, occasional passive aggression, and my faith….
That’s all her…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
If anyone out there has a mother, and she’s not perfect, please call her and say you love her anyway…

Did you know: Chris Evans gets panic attacks. Yes, he does. This is one reason why he’s very private and didn’t really do any meet-and-greets on the Avengers’ sets.

It amazes and inspired me that a man who does what he does can do it, even with an anxiety disorder. You go, Chris.

This is why I get so upset when I hear negative comments about Chris and how he doesn’t seem as out-going as the rest of the Avengers cast. I remember hearing people complain about how he’s ‘rude’ and the like and it’s sad, because I highly doubt he intends to come off that way, he’s just more reserved than the others.

I remember hearing once that he actually went to seek psychiatric help before accepting the role of Captain America because of how anxious he felt regarding it. As well as the fact that he already played another Marvel superhero and he was concerned how comic fans would react to his playing another hero in that universe.

Just because someone’s in the entertainment industry doesn’t mean they’re going to be incredibly outgoing off camera just as much as they appear to be on camera. Some people just really enjoy acting; they’re not the characters they portray nor are they like their costars nor are they going to be incredibly outgoing because of their choice of career.

Now I’m really starting to root for this guy. Because, well. I kind of get the point more accurately than I wish I did.

I had no idea about this and now i have so much respect for this guy, may god bless him :D

To a man that made us laugh, to a man that always thaught us a lesson, showed us how to loved others and always see the funny side of things no matter how badly they are. To a man we all grew up with.

Today we lost someone we all remember and grew up with watching and owed and are the why the realistic reason why we’re funny. A man that thaughts us how we shouldn’t be afraid of being our funny selves at everybody around you and laugh at your problems no matter what the circumstances are.

I had something beautiful written early but this thing desicedly to erased it stupidly but just laugh at it i guess but basicly He was someone who was blessed be being hilarious talented comecly actor and played characters that made you fall in love with them and reach out to you and made you like those movies For it. But also you remember how you were growing up watching his movies it became part of your childhood and was someone you just liked because the way he would do his funny comedic side became like a family member that you were watching when you weren’t having a Good day or just wanted to see a movie of his comedic person that he was. You like that about him just when you would see a movie of his you knew something hilarious was coming and he wouln’t stop jokeing which you enjoy about him and why you had so much respect for him.

I unfortunetly was not a fan of his but i loved him and everyone did. He was someone you grew up watching and you like and every movie and tv that he did he was just bring his hilarious self and made you remember why you just love his movies for it.

He not only did comedy but he did drama as well which he did great characters and demonstrated that not only could he be funny but he can also play serious characters which thaughts us that it was almost what life was but he would add a funny side of it which was also demonstrating us that just laught at it no natter what the circumstances is and made him a very lovable actor

The movies we all will remember him in were part of everything in ourlives and he play fantastic characters and movies that were fantastic and he made the character that nobody could ever portrayied like he did and he was unbelivable i will thank him for that.

I remember all of his movies i grew up watching him in and i owe him for it :),

Aladdin (Nobody can never ever do genie like Robin Williams did i owed him for that so much and a thanks for that and thank for doing a character that we just liked!! And thanks for doing a character that we all loved so much :) thanks robin. Genie!)

Mrs. Doubtfire (who thaoughts us about love our parents no matter what problems happen and never to blame anyone and why things happen and why still have fun no matter the circumstances and became a Character you wish you had growing up and fell in love with his character.)

Hook (i haven’t not seen the movie but i have seen some scenes and it was so hilarious and beautiful)

Jumanji (who coulda not remember him in that movie you love the movie and just remenber how fantastic it was when you were growing up watching it, not my fav movie, but it was one that you remember loving when you were growing up.)

Toys (i loved this movie when i was small)

Fern gully (omg!! Thats my fav animated movie and he was just great as batty thank you!!)

The birdcage (i know it was for adults but i loved that movie. And it a good movie)

Flubber!! (That was a memorable movie and was the perfect character he clouda played it was a perfect movie rememorable disney classic movie)
Bicentennial Man (omg this was a a great movie and was great plotline, the story was beautiful and the futureristic of the timeline was remarkable.)

Basicaly thank to Robin Williams for everything and my childhood and making us growing up laugh and love everything about knowledge and the chatacters that he played and you remember and for making us fall in love those movies. And reasons we remember them and to always be our comedy self no matter what and love everything

Thank you Robin Williams and may god lift his spirit and bless him and his family and friends and everyone he loved and may god recieved him in his heavenly kingdom and lay him to rest and at peace. Que descanse empaz asi sea and god bless you alot for making us laugh

Go make god laugh please and thank you

Thanks and lets always remember him for who he always was :D :)

I’m the perfectionist rage queen who’s under the assumption that he knows every single thing there is to know about film making. Everyone needs to take a knee.

This why i love this man so much :D may god bless him alots ;),
